Finding home when homelessness – support homelessness
If would like support with homelessness get in contact with us here or call us on 020 7766 5544 We’re here to help, guided by your needs.
It often starts with a chat, the offer of a coffee and perhaps a hot meal or shower.
The chance to use a washing machine, a computer, or to charge a phone. Simple things that aren’t easy when you’re living on the streets.
Then it’s about listening to people, building up trust and understanding, so we can work out together what they need next.
It could be advice on finding somewhere to live, opportunities to gain skills, grow their confidence, self-belief and chances of work.
We get to know everyone as an individual, so we can inspire their trust and tailor our support to their unique needs and hopes for a better future. When you feel let down by the system, and by humankind, it’s not always easy to find or accept help.
So we stick with people, and find ways to get them what they need. That could be legal advice, medical treatment, mental health support or with help with drug or alcohol issues.
We also offer the chance to take part in a range of group activities like music, art, creative writing or gardening.
Providing food, showers and other practical support improves how people feel so they are in a better position to work with us, and take the necessary steps to address the underlying causes of their homelessness.
These essential services are integrated with a package of assessment and support which can facilitate lasting change.
Jamie now plans to re-join the army in the new year, and we’ve been able to help him secure accommodation too. He is much happier and has regained his confidence. We can’t wait to see what’s next for him!

We offer three levels of support, each of which is tailored to an individual’s situation and aspirations:
-
Our Centre team run our essential services and the building behind our red door. This will include catering, showers and laundry and access to specialist health, substance use and other essential in-reach provision, such as our regulated Immigration advice service. This team also manage our SWEP bed spaces.
-
Our Community team deliver our Community service. This includes all core services and access to our recovery and opportunities service to receive employment support and attend groups and activities.
-
Our Enhanced Support team offer person-led support to people with the most complex needs. Many of these people struggle to find effective support elsewhere.
We work with people at their own pace – supporting them to recognise their own strengths, recover from crisis and move away from the streets for good.
