Bob recently completed Ride London‘s 100 mile ride fundraising for the Connection for the second time!
Bob Callaghan has been volunteering with The Connection since the 1970s (I know, we can’t believe it either!), supporting our homelessness work throughout his life. Most recently, Bob rode 100 Miles in Ride London’s yearly bike ride fundraising against homelessness for The Connection.
This fundraising work makes a huge difference to our clients. Without amazing people like Bob, our work wouldn’t be possible. So once again a massive thank you to Bob for all your hard work!
“I’d really recommend anybody to do Ride London…riding for The Connection makes it really worthwhile”
-Bob Callaghan
London Bike Ride 2022
Our Fundraisers are welcome to receive lots of support when taking part in events for us. We’re always happy to help when you’re fundraising against homelessness
Why should you Fundraise for The Connection?
When you support our work, your supporting people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping to access the help they need at their own pace. We work with (never for) our clients on the issues most important to them so that their priorities guide their journey.
Take Sarah* for example. After we built trust with Sarah and got to know her, she began to let us give her meals and basic safe care. After some time, we were able support her with more complex issues like her alcohol and drug dependency. To learn more about Sarah and how you could help other clients like her click here.
*Sarah’s name has been changed to protect her identity
Can you Bike Ride Against Homelessness?
If, like Bob, you love to cycle and want to make a real difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness why not sign up for the upcoming Queen Eleanor cycle ride this summer? It’s a fantastic bike ride challenge for all!
Or are you more of a runner or swimmer? Whatever sport you enjoy you can take part while fundraising against homelessness for The Connection. We’re currently looking for swimmers for Swim Serpentine, an exciting event for taking place on 17th September 2022.
Not a Sports Fan? You can still do your bit for people experiencing homelessness!
Whether it’s making someone’s day with a smile, gifting urgently needed supplies or donating whatever you can all our supporters help us to keep providing life changing services. There is no bad way to give; the tiniest gestures make all the difference when experiencing homelessness.
So once again thank you Bob for your years of dedication to The Connection! We can’t wait to hear from you soon. In the meantime, you can hear exactly what Bob thought of his Ride London experience below!
